The BioPharmaceuticals Business Unit (BBU) builds and implements meaningful therapeutic area and product strategies that are passionate about addressing the unmet needs of patients around the world. What you’ll do
As an Associate Director, Marketing in Wilmington, DE, you'll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients' lives. In this role, you will contribute to improving and completing marketing plans to increase the value of AstraZeneca's portfolio and pipeline. You will be responsible for working with Brand Leadership team to develop and measure aspects of the brand strategy with a specific focus on opportunity assessments, channel leadership, positioning, messaging, and launch/lifecycle planning.
Assists in designing, implementing, and evaluating the marketing activities of assigned products within a given product line including distribution channel solutions (may include digital, social media, inside sales). Assists in review of marketing programs and helps implement changes. Assists in analysis of market data to identify key segment drivers. Works in conjunction with promotional and direct-to-consumer teams.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include input into the development of all aspects of the brand strategy, with specific focus on market opportunity assessment, brand positioning, messaging, asset planning and maximization, and launch/lifecycle planning
Collaborates with cross-functional partners to bring Brand Strategy to realization through leadership of:
Market Research/Insight and analytics
Brand positioning and messaging
Integrated launch plans
Establish strong alliance with Global and US Medical, Corporate Affairs, Regulatory and MAPs partners, providing input to cross-functional planning and programs by communicating brand strategy and identifying market opportunities and risks.
Work effectively to build Patient campaigns/programs that deliver (TA) brand plan elements.
Demonstrated ability to motivate, develop, and inspire employees. Ability to clearly communicate brand vision with passion and authenticity to marketing and cross functional teams.
Responsible for leading defined work streams and brand opportunities as defined by Marketing Director, with accountability for product.
Collaborate with Director, Marketing in developing product forecasts utilizing analytical sources. Understand key levers to pull to meet or exceed projections.
Collaborate and lead without authority across functional areas; organize people, activities, communication & resources around a common goal and to achieve business objectivesin a timely manner.
Foster enduring relationships with encouraging leader advocates and customer advocacy groups.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in business, marketing or the sciences.
5+ years of pharmaceutical or healthcare related experience and 3 years Marketing experience
Leadership experience and team management skills
Experience in developing brand channel strategy and completing it.
Experience managing complex projects at the project management level.
Strong financial proficiency in analyzing and **getting results**.
Successful project management experience with the ability to work with cross functional collaborators.
Vendor/Agency Management - Manage relationships with agencies, consultants, and other third-party groups to maximize the product opportunity.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Advanced Degree in business, marketing, or the sciences
Experience in Consumer Marketing
Experience in Insight/Market Research
Experience related to Respiratory therapeutic area.
Experience across multiple promotional channels (Personal, Non-Personal, Omnichannel, Digital)
Development of digital customer experiences and/or e-commerce
